We understand that you may have many questions about your visit. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions to help you feel prepared and informed. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our office.

  • How long is the wait time?
    • We aim to see each patient and complete their visit within 30 minutes to an hour. Wait times may vary depending on when you arrive, so please ensure you are on time for your scheduled appointment. If you are late, the next patient may be seen first, and your appointment will be rescheduled for a later time. If you are running late, need to reschedule, or cancel, please call our office as soon as possible.
  • Do I need to bring anything with me to the appointment?
    • Yes, please bring a valid ID with you. If you do not have a physical copy, you may email a digital copy to southeastdekalbgyn@gmail.com.
    • For Minors: If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present at your appointment. Please bring a birth certificate (or legal guardianship document) and another form of identification (e.g., a social security card or school ID). Your parent or guardian must also bring their ID.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    • We accept both cash and card payments. Unfortunately, insurance is not accepted for these procedures. However, there is a hotline available to check if you qualify for financial assistance. Contact our office for more information.
  • Can I bring a guest with me?
    • Yes, you may bring a guest with you for support. However, we kindly ask that you do not bring children into the facility out of respect for our other patients. Thank you for your understanding.
  • What is the counseling requirement before my appointment?
    • Georgia law requires all patients to receive counseling at least 24 hours before their procedure. This counseling session ensures that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision. We will provide you with detailed instructions during this session.
  • Is there a follow-up appointment after the procedure?
    • Yes, we schedule follow-up appointments to ensure your health and recovery.
    • Medical Abortion (Pill Method): Follow-up visit is scheduled 2 weeks (14 days) after your initial visit.
    • Surgical Abortion (Vacuum Method): Follow-up visit is scheduled 3 weeks (21 days) after the procedure.

  • What should I do if I experience complications after the procedure?
    • If you experience any unusual symptoms such as heavy bleeding, severe pain, fever, or any other concerns, please contact our office immediately. Our team is available to assist you and provide the necessary medical support.

    • Absolutely. We prioritize your privacy and comply fully with all Federal Privacy Laws and HIPAA regulations. Our staff is trained in confidentiality policies and procedures to ensure that your information remains secure and protected.
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
    • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible. We ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance to accommodate other patients and ensure that you receive a new appointment time that fits your schedule.
  • Are abortions still legal in Georgia?
    • Yes, abortions are still legal in Georgia. You have the right to make decisions about your reproductive health. We are here to provide the necessary support and resources to help you make an informed choice that is best for you.
  • What if I need financial assistance for the procedure?
    • While insurance is not accepted, there is a financial assistance hotline available. Contact our office for the hotline number and information on how to apply for assistance.
  • Can I eat or drink before my appointment?
    • Depending on the type of procedure, there may be specific guidelines regarding eating and drinking before your appointment. Our staff will provide detailed instructions when you schedule your procedure.
  • Will I receive aftercare instructions?
    • Yes, we will provide you with comprehensive aftercare instructions during your visit. Our team will ensure you understand how to care for yourself following the procedure and provide you with contact information for any questions or concerns you may have.
